Clothed by the Pink Sky

I've been thinking a lot about Matthew 6 lately (which comes to mind quite often actually), but these verses in particular...because I think about clothes way too much and not enough about God's grace.

Matthew 6: 28-33
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Set Design

The set design in An Education makes me all swoony and weak in the knees.  Particularly this one.  I'm positive my dreams tonight will inhabit this corner of temporal elusivity; what once was and 2D is from now 'til pictures give way to that eventual dust.

A Little Obsession

How cute is Lands' End Canvas?  I put together a little collage so I can keep these looks in my fash-spiration file, never to forget.  I feel like JCrew has fallen off the preppy train a little bit as of late, so I'm very thankful LE got picked up where they left off.  The only problem is...I can't afford everything.

New Haircut - Before and After

I feel like a different woman....honestly it's kind of strange.  Someone told me I look younger, but I feel a bit like a soccer mom.  The point was two-fold:
1. Go lighter.
2. Have less to blow dry in the morning as I am uber low maintenace.

My head feels like it weighs less.  Does that mean I can now fill it up with more stuff???  Huh, does it?

My Imaginary Best Friend...

I love Kris Carr...and am so happy she has a new book out! I've been following her story since her documentary, Crazy Sexy Cancer came out back in 2007. She's super amazing, full of light and love and knowledgable about all things nutritious (major points in my book). You nourish your body, you nourish your life, and can give more of yourself to the people in your life.

Check her out in this video, check out her website, and if you dig on her sparkly vibes, buy her book...because I know it will inspire you!

xoxo

Fonting Around

I love stumbling accross beautiful old signage.  I could take pictures of it all day long.  But then people who love me would start to question my sanity.

Heck, wouldn't be the first time.

Impossible Erosion

That water is desirous, restless, and always forcing its way through us.  Impudently furnishing space for feet and hooves, our movement from within its places.  Even where it has been and is no longer, evidences promenade in identifiable fashion, eliciting understanding and complicit acceptance of its power.  This wall, though tanned and parched, against my hands the waves mimic only one thing...a rushing, bowling, sliding wetness that screams "LIFE!"

To be a Lighthouse

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:1-4).

A wonderful article on Becoming a Lighthouse of Ministry.

I'm a Winner!

So, a while back I won a giveaway on a lovely blog that I visit on a regular basis, Blueberry Cottage (go visit Suzanne, she's amazing!) and...it's my first giveaway I've won ever, so I was very thrilled.  And the giveaway was right up my alley...a Keep Calm Print!  I've been wanting to spruce up the laundry closet for a while now and this gave me the perfect opportunity.  I have yet ot mount those plates in my hand, but I will be doing that soon...hopefully...and also hanging a shelf on which to put some brightly colored tennis balls and essential oils.  Yes, you read that right.  We've decided to keep away from scented dryer sheets and tennis balls are the new black in terms of eco-laundering as it were.  Who knew! :)

Happy Sunday!

Nothing Need be Explained

A Rabbit As King Of The Ghosts by Wallace Stevens

The difficulty to think at the end of day,
When the shapeless shadow covers the sun
And nothing is left except light on your fur?

There was the cat slopping its milk all day,
Fat cat, red tongue, green mind, white milk
And August the most peaceful month.

To be, in the grass, in the peacefullest time,
Without that monument of cat,
The cat forgotten on the moon;

And to feel that the light is a rabbit-light
In which everything is meant for you
And nothing need be explained;

Then there is nothing to think of. It comes of itself;
And east rushes west and west rushes down,
No matter. The grass is full

And full of yourself. The trees around are for you,
The whole of the wideness of night is for you,
A self that touches all edges,

You become a self that fills the four corners of night.
The red cat hides away in the fur-light
And there you are humped high, humped up,

You are humped higher and higher, black as stone?
You sit with your head like a carving in space
And the little green cat is a bug in the grass.
